Many disabled people on Lombok are sitting at home without employment. There are not a lot of businesses who want to hire them, because having a disability comes with a lot of prejudice on Lombok. Some people are afraid that the disabled are punished by God, others think they cannot do any meaningful work or that having a disability is infectious.

Harapan Baru Lombok helps disabled people find meaningful employment by creating micro-enterprises. We can help participants by finding internships with successful business owners, finding credit or investments for them, and support them with marketing and sales. We visit participants every week, to measure progress and support them where needed.
